HLL2, Seoul, Upper-Level Analysis

HLL upper-level chart

This is a 500-hectoPascal analysis chart for the waters off China, Korea, and Japan. It was probably copied on 9165 kHz USB. Note the tropical storm at lower right.

Weather products marked with "DFS" come from the Korea Meteorological Association (KMA). The meaning of the acronym is not known for sure, but the most likely of several possibilities is Digital Forecast System, a way of massaging forecast values for 5-kM grid squares into various graphical output formats.

All fax signals are tuned 1.9 kHz lower than their listed frequencies.
